“LIFE ISN'T JUST ABOUT DARKNESS OR LIGHT, RATHER, IT'S ABOUT FINDING LIGHT WITHIN THE DARKNESS.”

—LANDON PARHAM

Hi! I'm Julia.

I've always been mesmerized by the magic of photography.

Even as I studied the craft, eventually receiving a BA in Photography, I never lost my appreciation for its powers.

Photographs evoke emotion, capture our humanity, and tell powerful stories. They provide the emotional connection to our past, to nature.

The idea for 'The Nature Morte Project' developed while I was going through a period of immense grief. As I struggled with my sense of purpose, I began to create images of cut flowers. These flowers exhibit fragile, perfect masterpieces of nature and reflect a beauty that transcends life and death. In the joy of these flowers, I found my connection to the essence of life.

Set against a bold background these vibrant floral images play in between light and dark emulating the dance between life and death. Mystical and physical worlds come together - the flower's life-stream continuing as its form evolves.
